Marcel van Luit

Willow

No eyes. No mouth. No judgement.

The Character

Who is Willow

The friend who is always there. Who never asks questions, never judges, and simply sits beside you.
He cannot see your flaws, blind by design. He does not speak, he simply listens.

You can tell Willow everything, because he already knows and he already accepts.

Material language

Fabric as humanity

Willow is built from textile inspired surfaces: tapestry, embroidery, denim, plush. Fabric worn close to the body carries warmth, identity and memory.

Through this language Willow feels human, comforting and familiar, whether he is intimate enough to hold or monumental enough to fill a square.

Willow

Born from loneliness

Willow began in a real place. Artist Marcel van Luit spent years struggling with loneliness, not from being alone, but from feeling unseen. From that place came a character with no eyes, no mouth and no judgement. A presence that cannot see your flaws, does not speak, and simply stays.

The first Willow was painted on canvas, by hand, in silence. That painting is now a universe, because it turned out the feeling was shared by more people than anyone imagined, and so was the comfort.

No eyes, no mouth, no judgement

No eyes. Blind by design. Willow cannot see your flaws.

No mouth. He does not speak. He simply listens.

No judgement. He holds no opinion of who you are.

Pure presence. You are not alone.

The world gets louder. Willow gets closer.

Loneliness has quietly become one of the defining feelings of our time. One in three adults feel it on a regular basis, and for a whole generation it ranks as their number one concern. It is not a niche. It is nearly everyone, at some point.

Willow does not try to fix that with noise. He answers it with presence. A reminder, made visible, that connection is still possible and that no one has to carry the quiet alone.

Willow belongs in the world

Willow is not only a character to hold at home. He has appeared as monumental sculpture, as light in the night sky through drone shows, and on large screens at international art and cultural events. Wherever he shows up, the effect is the same: people slow down, and stay a little longer.

From plush and collectibles to fashion, interiors, fragrance, hospitality and public art, Willow carries the same soul into every form. One character, endless expressions, each one a reminder to be present.

Love Louder

Willow carries a single message: be softer in a hard world, choose connection over distance, and be present for one another. If the world gets louder, then love has to get louder too.

You can tell Willow everything. He already knows. He already accepts.
